Colleton Connections

Bayley Rd Couples Party

One of the most amazing things about life in Colleton River Club is the sense of
community. Some years ago, members of Colleton, Debi Incandela and Suzanne
Weisenbach formed Colleton Connections, a group of neighborhood mentors who act
as the “welcome wagon” arm of the community. Debi and Suzanne, who co-ordinate
with Kerri Neiderer, Director of Membership & Communications, have seen Colleton
Connections grow to 37 mentors who generously give of their time in welcoming new
members.

Colleton Connections has proven to be a wonderful way to introduce new members to
the culture, activities and the many member-coordinated Clubs within the Clubs offered
in Colleton River.

“My involvement with mentoring has allowed me to bring a little happiness to a new
neighbor. Moving is already stressful enough and being able to have a mentor will
inevitably lead to a smoother transition to our community.” Andrea Williams

“While speaking to our neighbor…I found out that we’re both grandmothers, both love
nature and adventure. I’m sure we’ll become Colleton friends.” Sharon Baker

“I think that the Mentor program is so great! We came to Colleton some time before it
existed. If the program had been in existence, it would have been so much better!”
DeeDee Despo

“The Mentors of Oak Tree had a Community Dock party last spring with over 80%
attendance; the new members really appreciated meeting so many people!” Betsy
Hammond

“It’s nice as a Mentor to share Colleton River with our new members.” Laureen Keenan

“The women on and off Whitehall Drive (WOW) have hosted two events for new
members. One in a member’s home and one on the 3 rd Floor Dye, both were well
attended!” Michele D’Alessandro, Lisa Woolbert and Dede Mavrogordato.

“The Bayley Road mentors had a Wine Room dinner for new members. It was a very
successful evening with lots of laughs and conversation” Debbie Proud, Connie Golber
and Mary Moran

“So many people who move here are leaving behind lifelong friends and communities
where they have lived and put down roots for many years. Knowing there is a kind,
supportive group to guide them in their journey is a powerful asset for helping prospects
see that the adjustment will be seamless. Colleton Connections truly makes the
community a better place” Kerri Neiderer
