Meet Paddington. This adorable 3-year-old pup has been a beloved resident of Covenant Hills for two years with his owners John and Audrey Crisp. John and Audrey Crisp have enjoyed the last two years living here and have really enjoyed the beautiful tree lined streets and all the amenities and friends they have made.  According to them, Paddington is the absolute sweetest and best pet, bringing joy and affection to their lives.

Paddington’s story begins in Audrey’s home town in Utah. She knew a person there who bred Golendoodles and followed her on social media. John and Audrey had been toying with the idea of welcoming a Goldendoodle into their home but hadn’t seriously committed until a live Instagram video caught Audrey’s attention. The breeder was showcasing Paddington, the last puppy left, and passionately detailing all the reasons why someone should adopt him. When Audrey excitedly asked her husband about adopting Paddington, to her surprise, he said yes! A whirlwind of excitement ensued, and shortly after, she was on a plane to bring Paddington home.

The moment John laid eyes on him, his name became clear. John suggested Paddington and they both agreed and thought it was perfect!  Inspired by Paddington Bear from the beloved books and movies, the name felt just right. It encapsulated his warm and cuddly nature, and thus, Paddington was welcomed into their family. 

What makes Paddington stand out is his affectionate and protective personality. He has an unwavering desire for cuddles, often insisting on snuggles and pets from his family. His playful spirit is evident in his talent for catching treats mid-air and his ability to perform simple commands like “sit,” “down,” and “speak.” His favorite pastime? A lively game of catch with his rubber ball, or indulging in his adored soft milk bone treats and cheese, which he goes crazy for.

One of the Crisp’s favorite memories involves a cozy day on the couch, where Paddington cuddled close with Audrey, and the day unfolded during John’s yoga session when Paddington, with surprising grace, participated in “downward dog,” on command bringing laughter to the room. He also sits in the same spot under their counter each night as they eat dinner. 

Paddington loves to explore his backyard and enjoy playdates with neighborhood dogs, including his cousin. He also has a few favorite local spots, often visiting Starbucks or McDonald's for a special “pup cup” treat. His grooming sessions at Zuri Pet Spa keep him looking sharp, and his visits to Sendero Animal Hospital ensure he stays healthy and happy.

While Paddington is a sweet and affectionate companion, he also has a protective side. He’s vocal when he senses a threat or hears the familiar chime of the Ring doorbell, and always ready to alert his family. This blend of tenderness and vigilance makes him not just a pet but a cherished family member.

Paddington’s journey from a puppy in a breeder's care to a beloved part of a family reflects the joy and love pets bring into our lives.
