Brody is a 5-year-old Black Lab and Maddy is a 1-year-old Yellow Lab. Both were born in Pawlet, VT, from the Hillside Labrador bloodline bred by Heather Waite and Pam Leslie.

What are Brody’s and Maddy’s adoption stories?
Brody was a COVID baby. Carter and Leeanne had just moved into the home they built in Dorset. Leeanne was working from home and wanted to get their 13-year-old Jack Russell, Katie, a companion. Brody was one of two in his litter. They brought him home the day after Thanksgiving, and a few days later, a snowstorm dumped three feet of snow. Watching their baby black bear tromp around in snow over his head was so much fun.

The Rawsons met Maddy as a two-week-old puppy last year on Boxing Day and brought her home on Valentine’s Day. She has been a mischievous addition from the beginning.

Brody gives the best bear hugs; he stands up on his hind legs and puts his paws on your shoulders, typically unprompted and full of love. He is also famous for catching tennis balls out of the air. Maddy loves to snuggle and will do anything for a cookie. Both dogs were incredibly sweet and gentle when the family brought their newborn babies home.
