Welcome, April!

Snow, mud, or sun - we'll take you as you are.

On a snowy February morning at the Dorset Quarry for the Downey family photo shoot, spring was a dream, but was a dream subtly taking shape. Now in April, the days grow noticeably longer, routines loosen, and the energy around us begins to shift.

That awareness feels especially relevant in April, as Earth Day on April 22 invites reflection on how our relationship with the environment has evolved. Earth Day began in 1970, sparked by public outrage over environmental damage like the Santa Barbara oil spill and fueled by a broader movement demanding change.

Today, Earth Day reminds us that lasting change often begins with small, individual choices. Whether it is planting a garden or spending more time outdoors with intention, these actions connect us to the same spirit of care that shaped the movement decades ago.

At Stroll Dorset, we are grateful for our dedicated business partners, whose generosity ensures every issue reaches your home. Their commitment helps make this publication possible, and we encourage you to support them as they continue to support us. We look forward to sharing more stories and inspiration with you this month and hope you find ways to celebrate both the season and our planet.

Here’s to April, to welcoming spring as it comes, and to nurturing the earth along the way.
