For Kerri Salls of Inspired Closets, the journey to entrepreneurship was winding, and that’s exactly how she likes it.

Raised in Framingham, Massachusetts, she now calls Williston, Vermont home. After graduating from Bates College with a degree in French, Kerri spent two years serving in the Peace Corps in Benin, West Africa. From there, she built a successful career in high tech and consulting, earned an MBA from Boston University, and eventually found her way to business ownership.

“My path wasn’t linear, and I wouldn’t have it otherwise,” she says.

In 2023, she acquired Inspired Closets, a company that has been transforming homes for more than 25 years. During COVID, Kerri realized she no longer wanted to advise small business owners—she wanted to be one.
