A Colorful Success: Essex Fells Foundation Hosts First Annual Color Run

It was a picture-perfect morning on Sunday, October 19th, as families, students, and staff gathered on the Essex Fells School field for the Foundation’s First Annual Color Run. Under clear blue skies, the energy was electric as nearly 500 members of our school community turned out to run, walk, and cheer in support of the Essex Fells Foundation.
The morning kicked off with a lively warm-up led by beloved third-grade teacher Miss Kowalski, who had runners stretching, dancing, and smiling before the starting horn. Once the music began, courtesy of Tim Hughes, Essex Fells’ favorite DJ, the celebration was in full swing. Participants made their way around the colorful course as volunteers showered them with bright, eco-friendly colored powder. By the finish line, everyone was glowing, both literally and figuratively, with joy and school spirit.
The Foundation is absolutely thrilled to share the incredible success of its first-ever Color Run fundraiser. Thanks to the enthusiasm, generosity, and community spirit of our families, we raised nearly $70,000, an amazing accomplishment that surpassed all expectations.
Proceeds from the event will directly support the Essex Fells Foundation’s mission to enhance educational opportunities and resources for all students. These funds allow the Foundation to continue investing in innovative programs, classroom enhancements, and teacher-led initiatives that make Essex Fells School such a special place to learn and grow.
From runners and volunteers—including Essex Fells’ first family, Mayor Ed, Lucinda, and Paige Davis—to sponsors and supporters, the day truly showcased the heart of our community. The Foundation extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make the event such a joyful and memorable success. With such an incredible turnout and spirit of togetherness, the Foundation Color Run is sure to become a cherished new Essex Fells tradition.
