Carol and Larry Romestant

Faith, Family, and Life in Forest Ridge

Carol and Larry Romestant have built a life together rooted in faith, creativity, and adventure. Originally from Sunbury, Pennsylvania (Carol) and Richfield, Ohio (Larry), the couple first met and married in Southern California, where they spent two decades working, raising their family, and pursuing their passions. After more than 20 years in Northridge, California, they made the move to Oklahoma three years ago, settling into the Forest Ridge community.
“We LOVE the rural setting of the Forest Ridge community and particularly the beauty of the golf course, trees, creeks, ponds and trails,” Carol and Larry share. “Walking is one of our most favorite things to do here and one of the main reasons we chose to live here.”

Lifelong Dedication to Music and Engineering
Carol is a credentialed music teacher who taught for more than 40 years in the classroom. Her expertise spans general music education and large-scale productions, piano lab education, multicultural dance, hand drumming, recorders, and choir direction. In addition to teaching, she also led church and handbell choirs. Today, she continues to share her talents with private music students—including many from Forest Ridge. If you are interested in lessons or more information please reach out to Miss Carol at 818.481.2138.
Larry, meanwhile, built his career in engineering. A Principal Mechanical Engineer, he has worked for major companies including Cisco Systems, Apple, and Harman JBL, where he was employed full time for 14 years. He now continues his relationship with Harman JBL as an independent contractor while also co-managing their consulting engineering business, Romestant Design and Fabrication Co., Inc. (RDFCO).
Larry’s career path also includes 14 years of military service. He was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, for five years, where he played trombone in various military bands before continuing his education at Ohio State and Akron Universities. Carol, after her own studies at Commonwealth University in Pennsylvania, toured the United States with music ministries such as The Continental Singers.
In 2022, the couple made a bold decision to pursue a lifelong dream: they relocated to Broken Arrow to attend Rhema Bible Training College. In May 2024, they proudly graduated with the college’s 50th Anniversary Class.

Shared Passions
Carol and Larry’s relationship thrives on shared passions and a willingness to support one another’s interests. “We found early in our relationship that it was possible to encourage and enjoy each other’s interests,” they explain. Carol recalls, “I knew nothing about motorcycles when we met, but Larry took the time to find a way we could both share in his passion. I grew to enjoy everything about his passion, including traveling and meeting very interesting and passionate individuals.”
Larry, in turn, applied his engineering expertise to Carol’s career. “In my work as a music teacher, Larry saw that I needed a better working environment and equipment to be more effective and efficient. In his position with JBL, Larry made sure I had the proper sound equipment for my classroom and productions.”
Together, they share a love for music, motorcycling, and history. They enjoy attending concerts, playing music together, and exploring Tulsa’s rich history—particularly with the upcoming 100th anniversary of Route 66 in 2026. Their custom motorcycles and headlight nacelles have been featured in multiple magazines and even in a full-length documentary. Several of their builds have been showcased on Jay Leno’s Garage, a highlight in their journey.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sV-AA69ngk

Traditions and Hobbies
At home, the Romestants embrace a mix of quiet relaxation and creative activity. Larry enjoys golf, while Carol finds joy in gardening and cooking. Tea time—“not TEE time”—is a beloved tradition in their household. The couple also cherishes early morning motorcycle rides, often stopping for breakfast before continuing their day.
The holidays bring their own unique traditions. From preparing “scrapple,” a dish rooted in their Pennsylvania and Ohio German heritage, to collecting ornaments from their travels, the Romestants create meaningful family rituals. One of their favorite holiday activities is decorating their BMW motorcycle and sidecar for Christmas and riding through the community while ringing Christmas bells.

Thankful for Community
As active members of their church and supporters of Rhema Bible Training College, Carol and Larry are deeply invested in giving back. They also value supporting local schools and businesses.
Reflecting on their journey, they express deep gratitude: “(In the spirit of) Thanksgiving, we want to express how thankful we are to be part of the Forest Ridge Community. We feel so blessed to be living here among such lovely friends and neighbors. Our sincere hope is that we can grow together and become part of a sharing community of friends.”
They acknowledge the challenges of the past few years but they credit their faith and “tremendous support from our church, school, family, as well as, neighbors and new friends.” for helping them persevere. “It has been a walk of faith, but God has blessed each step,” they say.
With their love of music, motorcycles, and ministry, Carol and Larry Romestant bring passion, kindness, and creativity to everything they do. As they look forward to new traditions and deeper connections, they are excited to continue making Forest Ridge their home.
