The Haar Family
A Story of Hope, Laughter, and Lake Days

Forest Ridge has been home to Andrew and Kimberly Haar for the past eight years, which is also how long they’ve been married. When they joined their lives, they blended their families as well. Together, they have seven adult children. When you add in a few sons-in-law, a daughter-in-law, and one long-term boyfriend, the Haar household includes a lively crew of eleven. Rounding out the family is their rescue dog, Rachel, who has a big personality and plenty of opinions. (When she’s in trouble, she gets the full name treatment-“Rachel Rae!”)
Andrew, originally from Kansas City, Missouri, is a devoted Chiefs fan through and through. He spent 17 years as the Environmental Manager at HollyFrontier and now works in the same capacity at OneGas, the parent company for Oklahoma Natural Gas, Texas Gas Service, and Kansas Gas Service.
Kimberly was born in Canada and moved to Oklahoma when she was seven years old. She now owns a private counseling practice in Tulsa called There’s Hope! Counseling. As a licensed therapist, author, and speaker, her mission is to help people heal from trauma, grief, and deep emotional pain. Her new book, Healing from Life’s Deepest Hurts, weaves together her personal story and professional insights to offer hope and restoration to others.
The Haars are proud grandparents to three young grandchildren- two granddaughters, ages four and two, and a seven-month-old grandson. “They rock our world,” Kimberly says with a smile. Spending time with them is one of the couple’s greatest joys.
When they need to recharge, Andrew and Kimberly head to their cozy Lakehouse tucked away in the Mark Twain National Forest near Branson, Missouri. It’s their favorite escape - a peaceful place where they enjoy early morning coffee, quiet reflection, and the beauty of nature.
The couple attends Church on the Move Broken Arrow (COTMBA) and participates in a small group alongside ten other couples. This group has become a source of encouragement, friendship, and shared wisdom, something they both deeply value.
The Haar home often includes visits from Kimberly’s parents, who live just a few miles down the road. When the whole family gathers, it’s loud, full of laughter, and a whole lot of fun. Andrew and Kimberly enjoy date nights, though they often joke that most of them somehow end with a trip to Lowe’s.
What they love most about Forest Ridge is the genuine sense of community. From friendly neighbors to scenic walking paths, they feel thankful to live in a neighborhood where kindness and connection still matter.
Through the highs and lows of life, Andrew and Kimberly have learned to treasure each day and keep laughter close by. Their story is one marked by resilience, faith, and deep gratitude.
If you see them out walking Rachel around the trail, it’s clear she’s the one walking them - not the other way around. Don’t hesitate to say hello - they’re always happy to make a new friend.
