Floral Haven: Helping Families Through Life’s Hardest Moments
For Keenan Nesvold, helping families through loss is much more than a profession. It’s a calling.
As a Family Service Advisor at Floral Haven, Keenan spends his days guiding families through some of life’s most emotional moments while also helping others prepare for the future with peace of mind.
Born and raised in Tulsa, Keenan spent nearly his entire life in the area, aside from five years in Northern California working in electronics manufacturing. Eventually, he felt drawn toward work that was more personal and meaningful.
“I came to Floral Haven to help families,” he says. “I’ve experienced several difficult losses in my own life, and I wanted to be there for people going through the same thing.”
That decision led him to close his previous business and begin working with Floral Haven, a choice he now considers one of the best he’s ever made.
“Helping families that have experienced a recent loss and assisting others with pre-planning is truly a work of love for me,” Keenan shares. “I enjoy every day at the office.”
Family is also at the center of Keenan’s personal life. He and his wife have three children and five grandchildren, whom he proudly calls “the greatest thing in the world.” Outside of work, he enjoys fishing, sporting clays, time at the pistol range and reminiscing about past hunting adventures.
What sets Floral Haven apart, Keenan says, is the comprehensive support families can find all in one place.
“We are the only location in the area with a cemetery, funeral home, crematory, family center, and flower shop all on one campus,” he explains. “Our staff is professional, compassionate, and truly cares about helping families.”
One of Floral Haven’s meaningful traditions is the annual Avenue of Flags over Memorial Day weekend, when thousands of American flags are displayed throughout the grounds in honor of veterans and loved ones. Floral Haven will raise 4,500 flags this year.
Keenan also encourages families to have honest conversations about planning ahead.
“Talking about your own death or making arrangements can be one of the hardest conversations in life,” he says. “But pre-planning doesn’t mean you’re ready to go. It simply means you’re prepared for whatever comes.”
For Keenan, helping families navigate those conversations with compassion and clarity is exactly why he loves what he does.
