Pet’s age: 2 Years old

 

Where/why did you get your pet?  A teacher at our high school sent us a picture and asked if we knew anyone who would be interested in adopting an 11 week old pure bred German shepherd. We got Knightro because his breeder had put out a request for an adoptive family, otherwise they were going to euthanize him. Knightro had a dislocated hip and the breeder was not willing to get it fixed. L He was delivered to us from Tyler, TX on a Friday and on Monday we had him in the vet’s office with immediate plans for surgery. Happy to say they removed his hip ball joint and he is perfect for us!

 

Is there a story behind its name? He got his name from my husband who graduated from the University of Central Florida. Their colors are black and gold (the color of Knightro). Go Knights!

 

Anything special or unusual about them (talents/quirks)? He is a very smart and funny little 100 lb. guy! He barks like he will rip you apart but once you approach him, he will lick you to pieces. He loves belly rubs and he loves running in his backyard. I think he is actually afraid of other animals. We also think Knightro views himself the size of teacup shepherd. He will jump into any chair to sit next to us.

 

What do you like best about your pet? We love his devotion. We also like how he will entertain himself by tossing his toys in the air and running for them.

 

Any funny stories? If we are not headed to our bedrooms by 9pm, he is urging us to go to bed. He sleeps at the foot of our bed every night, snoring like he desperately needs a CPAP machine. His dreams are very demonstrative. He is either on his back, running with his feet in the air, or he is barking (like talking in your sleep but for a dog)!

 

How spoiled is your pet? Our pet is considered one of the siblings. He gets pretty much whatever he wants and is in the process of training US on how to give him his best life.

 

What else should we know about your pet and/or how your pet has enriched your home/family? Knightro is very smart and loving. He is by far the best pet we have ever owned. His excitement is refreshing and he always seems to know when we need his affection.
