Taylor Brakefield-Pros PM

With more than two decades of experience in real estate and property management, Taylor Brakefield, owner and CEO of Pros PM, has built a reputation across North Texas for professionalism, service, and strong community connection. Originally from Nocona, Texas, Taylor grew up in a small town where relationships mattered and community means something. In 2007, she moved to the Denton area, and it quickly became home. “I love the balance here,” Taylor says, “growing communities, great local businesses, and neighborhoods where people look out for each other.”
Those values helped shape the foundation of Pros PM, the property management company she built to create a better experience for both property owners and residents. Taylor’s career path wasn’t a straight line. Along the way, she gained experience in business, customer service, and property management – lessons that ultimately shaped her leadership style. “What stuck with me over time was how much a well-run property can affect someone’s everyday life,” she says. “Whether it’s a homeowner protecting their investment or a resident who simply wants a place that feels safe, comfortable, and well taken care of - it all matters.”
Today, Pros PM has grown into a team of 27 professionals managing residential, commercial, and vacation properties across the Dallas–Fort Worth area and beyond. With an office located near the Denton Square, the company serves a wide portfolio that stretches well beyond Denton, offering customized property management services, tenant screening, transparent pricing, and responsive communication designed to simplify the ownership experience.
“In property management, a lot of the problems people run into come down to communication,” Taylor says. “We focus on being transparent and keeping people informed throughout the entire process. These are personal transactions for people, and every situation is a little different.”
What sets Pros PM apart, Taylor says, is the way the company approaches every property it manages. “We treat properties the same way we would treat our own homes,” she explains. “Communication, transparency, and reliability shouldn’t be optional - they should be the standard. Our goal isn’t just to manage properties; it’s to build trust with homeowners and residents so they feel confident that everything is being handled the right way. We believe professionalism and approachability can coexist.”
Taylor also credits the company’s success to the strong team around her. Pros PM is a family-owned and family-run business, with her brother, Hutch Ice, serving as president and COO, and her mother, Dr. Laura Ice, overseeing communications. “Many of our team members worked together before Pros PM,” Taylor says. “That shared history has helped create a culture where people genuinely support each other.”
That people-first mindset extends beyond the business itself. One example is Community Champions, Pros PM’s holiday campaign that recently completed its second year. Each season, the company highlights individuals within the community who are making a meaningful difference in Denton - often those working tirelessly behind the scenes through volunteerism, organizational leadership, and creating opportunities for others.
The initiative reflects a belief that also shapes the company’s approach to property management: people come first. By recognizing those who quietly strengthen the community, Pros PM reinforces the same values it brings to its work every day - service, trust, and a commitment to helping communities thrive. “It’s our way of saying thank you to the people who help make Denton such a special place,” Taylor says. “There are so many individuals doing incredible work in our community, and it’s an honor to help recognize them.”
Taylor and the Pros PM team also actively support organizations such as the Denton Chamber of Commerce, the Denton Main Street Association, Interfaith Ministries of Denton, Children’s Advocacy Center for North Texas, and the United Way of Denton County.
For Taylor, strong homes, strong neighborhoods, and strong communities all go hand in hand. “A neighborhood isn’t just a collection of houses,” she says. “It’s the people, the relationships, and the shared pride people take in where they live. When homes are well cared for, communities thrive.”
