Visit with Chance Gibbs for five minutes, and you’ll be convinced that he isn’t your everyday, run-of-the-mill real estate agent. Sure, he has a thriving team at Gibbs Property Group and a growing client base eager to have him help them settle into their forever home—all the things you’d expect from a successful realtor. He’s even been named one of Denton’s top realtors in each of the past four years.

 

However, what sets Chance apart isn’t the accolades or seemingly overnight success. It’s the way he approaches the business—with energy, creativity, a hands-on approach, and a deep commitment to treating clients like family.

 

“I hate to sound exactly like Olive Garden, but when you work with us, we really do treat you like family,” Chance said with a laugh. “I always say that it’s important to use a local lender and local realtor, and there are plenty of great options for both. But we are a family-run team, and we hold your hand every step of the way.”

 

Based in Denton, Gibbs Property Group at Fathom Realty has already expanded across the DFW and greater Wichita Falls areas since launching in early 2024. The team currently has six agents, with further growth on the horizon, and specializes in guiding first-time homebuyers through one of life’s most significant financial milestones. It’s no secret that buying a home can be overwhelming. Chance said it’s their job to eliminate that stress as much as possible by understanding your goals and what matters to you most. Chance truly is one of the top realtors in the area, and he’s surrounded himself with the best, too. That includes his mother, Carolyn, and wife, Sarah. Both have been big reasons why Gibbs Property Group has expanded like it has.

 

Ironically, Chance’s journey to real estate wasn’t exactly a straight line. His degree from Midwestern State University is in communications, and one of his life’s biggest dreams was to make it big in television and film—either in front of the camera as an actor or behind the scenes as a producer.

 

He realized that dream in 2009. His father’s connection with western actor Buck Taylor opened the door to Hollywood-style opportunities, but instead of moving to California, Chance launched his own production company, BAR G Moving Pictures, and began producing independent horror films.

 

Even as his love for movies grew, real estate was always in the background. While others passed the time on social media, Gibbs scrolled Zillow—marveling at historic homes, daydreaming over sprawling estates, or scouting potential filming locations. It wasn’t until Sarah said he should put that passion to work that he pursued his real estate license.

 

“I’m the guy who instead of scrolling on social media for hours on end, I’ll be scrolling on Zillow looking at mansions, old houses, big houses—even potential locations for horror films,” Chance said. He got his license in 2022. “It’s something I’ve always been fascinated with, and it’s been a fun ride so far. I get to live out my career as a real estate agent, and I also get to produce and act in various films. I start filming a movie next week, and I’ve got another in October.”

 

Whether he’s helping first-time buyers navigate the housing market or stepping in front of a camera for his next horror project, Chance brings the same level of dedication, energy, and hands-on approach he has become known for.
