BAKED BEEF TAQUITOS
INGREDIENTS
- Ground Beef
- Onion
- Chili Flakes
- Garlic
- Ground Onion
- Paprika
- Ground Cumin
- Flour or Corn Tortillas
- Shredded Cheese (Monterey jack cheese, cheddar cheese or Mexican mix)
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned
- Add the diced onion, minced garlic, chili flakes, cumin, ground onion, salt and pepper to the skillet with the ground beef. Sauté until the onion is translucent. Then Cook for an additional 2 minutes to allow the spices to become fragrant.
- Pour in 1/4 cup of salsa. Simmer the beef mixture for 3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the beef mixture onto each tortilla, spreading it down the center. Sprinkle some shredded cheese over the beef.
- Roll up the tortillas tightly to form taquitos. Secure them with toothpicks if needed.
- Transfer the taquitos to a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes to ensure they are heated through.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve the beef taquitos with your choice of toppings such as sour cream, guacamole, salsa, or chopped cilantro.
