For the Sturdevan family, Fox Den has been much more than a neighborhood. It has been home for the past 15 years. Danny and Colleen Sturdevan have built a life centered around family, community, and cheering one another on through every stage of life.

The couple first met while attending the University of Tennessee. Danny was working as an intern with the Lady Vols Marketing Department when a coworker, who happened to be dating Colleen's roommate, decided to play matchmaker. Eighteen years of marriage later, they're raising two accomplished sons and continue to call Fox Den home.

Danny, a South Knoxville native, earned his degree in Business Marketing before launching a successful career in real estate. Since 2009, he has been helping families find homes as a realtor. Colleen, originally from Maryland, came to Knoxville to study Architecture and Interior Design at UT. In 2010, she turned her creativity into a business when she founded Cakes by Colleen, where she creates beautiful custom cakes for everything from birthdays to weddings.

Their sons, Talan (17) and Bentley (10), both attend Christian Academy of Knoxville and share a passion for running. Talan has competed in triathlons since the age of five and is now a nationally ranked Junior Elite athlete racing with MultiSport Explosion out of Alpharetta, Georgia. As he enters his senior year, he plans to continue competing in track and cross country at the collegiate level. Bentley is following closely in his brother's footsteps and is excited to begin cross country and track as he enters fifth grade this fall.

Keeping watch over the family is Barkley, their energetic Miniature Australian Shepherd. True to his name, Barkley proudly announces the arrival of every Amazon or FedEx delivery with plenty of enthusiastic barking.

When they're not busy with work or sports, the Sturdevans enjoy taking advantage of everything Farragut has to offer. You'll often find them playing pickleball at Bob Leonard Park, grabbing dinner at 35 North or Taco Boy, or enjoying a run along the local greenways.

Giving back has always been important to the family. They've been members of Concord United Methodist Church since 2011, have both served on the Fox Den HOA Board, and continue to welcome new neighbors while helping preserve the special sense of community that makes Fox Den such a wonderful place to live.

When asked about a favorite neighborhood memory, one story immediately came to mind. Years ago, while enjoying coffee in their living room overlooking the golf course, they watched as a golf ball suddenly came crashing down the chimney, bounced out of the fireplace, and rolled across the hardwood floor. It was one of those unforgettable moments that left them simply staring at each other in disbelief.

After 15 years in Fox Den, it's the friendships, welcoming atmosphere, and strong sense of community that continue to make the neighborhood feel like home.
