Landon Kennedy, Young Entrepreneur
Co-Founder of Pickle Bros
Tell us about yourself…My name is Landon Kennedy and I’m 12 years old and in the 6th grade at Roberts Middle School. My family lived in Fulbrook on Fulshear Creek for 5 years and then we moved to Fulbrook after building our home. What I love most about living in Fulbrook is all the fishing options.
What's your favorite hobby or activity to do after school or on weekends?
I love to ride the trails and find new bodies of water so I can rush home and grab all of my fishing supplies and camp at the new fishing hole. I also love watching all the deer in my backyard with my new binoculars. I love where my house is in Fulbrook because I have lots of friends in Weston Lakes and can jump the fence really easily and go fishing. I like how friendly most of the neighbors are. They’re always waving and asking me either when am I selling my homemade pickles again or what did I catch.
What superpower would you choose and why?
Teleportation, to travel all over to my destination quickly. I don't enjoy long car or plane rides. I would also go to heaven and see my Gigi.
Tell us about your best friends.
I have several best friends. One is Shep Anderson, we fish and hunt together and started our pickle business called Pickle Bros Company in 2021. I shot my first deer with Shep, and our dads. We started Pickle Bros, and we have a wait list every season. We grow, pick and can our own pickles and will be setting up at the Fulshear Farmers Market this season, so look for us. My other best friend is Hudson Worthing and we play sports together and created a wiffle ball league and love to eat crawfish after our baseball games.
What's your favorite subject in school, and what do you like about it?
Art is my favorite, and my artwork was selected to hang in the Fulshear Fire Department and won several awards. But if I had to pick a real subject, it would be math because I like money and figuring out numbers.
Tell us something exciting happened to you.
I went viral and my video has been seen on ESPN, America's Funniest Videos and all-over social media. My football team was running through a banner to start a playoff game and I decided to just jump through the sign and not worry if I was going to hurt myself. It is pretty funny, and I have people still ask me about it.
What's your dream job when you grow up?
Own my own company and expand my Pickle Bros company into all the stores and start to sell Pickle Bro Merchandise. I want to take people on guided fishing trips.
Do you have a favorite animal or pet?
My old boxer Maverick will always be my favorite pet. I have two goldens that are great but not as good as my boxer.
What's your favorite family tradition?
Every year I count down to the two weeks we spend as a family in Rosemary Beach. We have been going there every Summer since I was born. We ride bikes, eat breakfast, surf or fish, play volleyball and wiffle ball on the beach. We end every night with a trip to the Sugar Shak for ice-cream. When we’re done, my family sits around the table, and we play cards for hours.
