Glenmoor residents Andi Brown, Michelle Dalton, Ashley Gastin and Marissa Hollinger had a great summer of tennis at North Canton Racquet Club!

Michelle’s 4.5 team had a competitive season and finished 5-3, beating teams from Mayfield Village Racquet Club and Paramount Tennis Club. This gave Michelle’s team a direct path to the Ohio State Championships in Cincinnati, where they faced the winner from Ohio Valley. Unfortunately they came up just short, losing 2-3 courts, two of which went to tiebreaks. Additionally, Michelle’s 8.0 mixed team went 6-2 in the regular season and qualified for the Northeast Ohio District Championship in Wooster, Ohio. They battled it out for a 2-1 win over the team from Latuchie Tennis Center and now play for the Ohio State Championship in Perrysburg, Ohio.

Andi, Ashley and Marissa’s 4.0 team went 9-1 in the regular season to qualify for the Northeast Ohio District Championships. Here, they played teams from Green Tennis Club and Towpath Tennis Center and convincingly won both of these matches. Next up was the Ohio State Tournament, where they played the District winners from Northwest Ohio and Ohio Valley. They also won both of these matches, including a 5-0 court win over the Northwest Ohio team. The following weekend, they traveled to the Midwest Sectional Championship in Indiana to play the state champions from Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana and Illinois. They won all of these matches, including 5-0 court wins over both Michigan and Indiana. They will now travel to Arizona at the end of October to compete at the USTA National Championships!
