Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival

Football’s Greatest Weekend!

Luke Kuechly

Each year, the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival occurs in early August. It is also known as “Football’s Greatest Weekend,” as it is a multi-day celebration that draws 700,000 spectators from our local area as well as across the country. This is Stark County’s largest tourism event and has a huge impact both culturally and economically- it is estimated to bring $43 million in revenue to Stark County through ticket sales, restaurants, hotels, transportation, and more. Let’s reflect on the highlights from 2026!

The Enshrinement activities kicked off with the Balloon Classic at the Kent State Stark University Campus. The event highlighted balloon launches, tethered balloon rides, skydivers, a night glow, a 5K run, food vendors, live music, and more. For the first time in several years, the weather cooperated and allowed the balloons to launch all five times! Another highlight of the event was the nighttime drone show. This year, 600 drones lit up the sky with an Outer Space theme on Friday night and an America 250 theme on Saturday night.

Enshrinement Week kicked off with the Sugardale Fan Fest, which was a multi-day free event on the Pro Football Hall of Fame grounds with tailgate-style food, live music, and more. The Carolina Panthers and Arizona Cardinals competed in the Hall of Fame Game at Tom Benson Stadium, officially kicking off the NFL’s 107th season. Other activities included the Hall of Fame Fashion Show, the Enshrinees’ Gold Jacket Dinner, the Grand Parade, and the Concert for Legends headlined by Lainey Wilson.

The 2026 Enshrinees were Drew Brees, Roger Craig, Larry Fitzgerald, Luke Kuechly, and Adam Vinatieri. Luke Kuechly has special ties to Ohio, as he grew up in Cincinnati and helped his high school win the OHSAA Division I State Championship in 2007.

We’d love to hear about your favorite Hall of Fame festivities!
