Jim Teggeman is the epitome of experience and knowledge in the billiards industry. As the owner and executive general manager of Austin Billiards, his company has long established itself as the premier retailer of billiard tables, other various gaming supplies and service in the Central Texas region. Austin Billiards is a family business, established in 1971 by Jim’s father, Eric Teggeman. They are proud to be one of the few billiard retailers in the nation that has reached this milestone, maintaining it for the past 50+ years. 

Jim is a devoted husband to his wife Michelle, father to two wonderful daughters, Taylin and Madison, and a a very proud grandfather, too. He’s a huge college football and basketball fan, a golfer, and has been known to throw a fishing line or two into the Gulf of Mexico. If you smell smoke coming from his home, don’t panic, it’s Jim indulging in another of his passions - putting something delicious on the grill or in the smoker.

On any given day, you can find Jim working in each and every segment of the business - from delivery and setup to storefront operations. Jim executes the company’s forecasting, financials, inventory, product development and placement, marketing, and day-to-day managerial functions. Jim really is a billiards industry expert and he’s often called upon for consulting services with billiard table manufacturing companies. Jim has even helped in the design and manufacturing of several lines of pool tables, and he played a major role in launching the marketing efforts of a start-up cue and game package company. He has his finger on the pulse of this industry and a deep working knowledge based on historical perspective along with a keen insight into trends and innovations. 

“I’ve been a part of this industry for 35 years now. It’s really all I’ve ever done. I got my start working summers for my dad when I was 14. I come from a family of entrepreneurs so it's not that unique. My grandfather owned a grocery store in Thrall, Texas. He had two pool tables in the back. My father was the rack boy and got paid a penny or a nickel to rack the balls.”
