I just read the best book this summer!  My cousin Emma in Buffalo passed it along to me.  It’s called What Happened To Rachel Riley by Claire Swinarski.  

I just started 5th grade at Asheville Catholic this year.  The book is perfect for any reader who likes a good investigation.  The story is told by Anna, who recently moved from Chicago to Madison WI.  She starts to look into why Rachel Riley, who was the most popular girl in school, is spending time all alone and no one appears to want to have anything to do with her!  Why is Rachel a social outcast?  

Anna puts her investigative skills to the test through a podcast "What Happened to Rachel Riley."  She ultimately uncovers harassment and bullying at the middle school and the truth behind a barn fire!

This book is great because it talks about bullying and how complicated popularity can be for middle school girls.  You can find the book in audio form on LIBBY, borrow the paper copy from me, or find online between $6 and $11.
