Beyond Faceyoga

What prompted you to start your own business?
I embarked on my entrepreneurial journey with a resolute sense of purpose and a desire to enact meaningful change It all began over two decades ago, after completing my studies in Belgium. I found my calling in teaching human biology and its correlation with wellness treatments at high school level. Teaching wasn't just a profession for me; it became a heartfelt passion. This dedication eventually propelled me to become head of the department of the beauty and hairdressing school in Ghent, Belgium.
Over the years, our (my husband and 2 girls) path led me across the globe, from Russia to Singapore and now the United States. Each destination brought me face-to-face with diverse cultures, enriching my understanding of the world in profound ways. Singapore, in particular, left an indelible mark on me. There, amidst the subtleties of its energies, I was drawn to the practice of face yoga.
As an educator beautician, I immersed myself in the intricate knowledge of facial structures, muscles, and underlying tissues.
But why? It was a personal journey as much as a professional one. When I gazed into the mirror, I saw a reflection of fatigue, and a hint of puffiness, despite having all the tools at my disposal. Embracing a holistic perspective on beauty, I was unwilling to resort to Botox or fillers. To me, aging is a privilege, and I cherish every facet of it.
In 2018, my journey into face yoga began, driven by a quest for a natural, holistic method of rejuvenation—one that embraces the beauty of aging gracefully. After practicing face yoga for a few weeks, I began to observe subtle changes in my facial appearance. Being naturally skeptical, I decided to document my progress by taking monthly photographs, keen to discern any noticeable differences. As time passed, I started receiving compliments from friends and family, affirming that the changes were indeed visible to others. This validation served as compelling evidence that face yoga was indeed effective. That’s when I started my training to become a faceyoga teacher.
This journey of faceyoga isn't just about enhancing outward appearances; it's about nurturing inner well-being and embracing the wisdom that comes with time. That’s why I called my little company, Beyond faceyoga.

 Describe what your company does.
- Online and in-person lessons in faceyoga.
- Facial fascia massages to release stored tension from scalp, face and neck.
- And soon online guided courses to practice on your own pace. (ready in September 2024)

How many people does the company employ? How long have you been in business?
Anything extraordinary / unique your company does?
I am currently developing an online program aimed at providing massage techniques to alleviate tension and facial exercises as faceyoga to enhance the strength of facial muscles. This program, designed to be completed in just 10 minutes per day, addresses common concerns such as puffiness, sagging cheeks, wrinkles, and tired-looking eyes.

Given your business expertise and the nature of what you do, what advice (whether general or specific) can you offer to the residents of your neighborhood?
If you are working out your body, why not your face?

Where did you grow up?
Belgium

What section of the neighborhood do you currently live in and how long have you lived in the neighborhood?
We have been living in Avent Ridge Drive since August 2023.

Tell us about your family.
My husband David Bazyn and I have been married for 16 years. Together we have 2 girls, Olivia who is 15 years old and Cézanne who is 13 years old. To make our family complete we have Elvis, our dog. When we moved to Memphis, we wanted a name for our dog that would capture Memphis vibes :-)
David is working for Volvo, as director of the distribution center in Byhalia.
Olivia and Cézanne are going to school at Lausanne in Germantown.

What are your hobbies/interests?
In my daily routine, I find joy in baking bread and preparing fresh, healthy meals for my family. It's my way of expressing love and care for them through food.
Additionally, I make sure to incorporate a 30-minute workout into my day to keep both my body and mind in condition.
Reading is my favorite me-time moment, it goes from self-study books to fiction.
Given that much of our time is dedicated to serving others—be it clients, colleagues, children, or various responsibilities—it is crucial to prioritize self-care and nourish ourselves with what replenishes our energy.
