Making Waves: Hallsley High Tides Caps Off Another Championship Season
What a summer it was for the Hallsley High Tides! Made up of swimmers ranging from ages 4 to 18, our neighborhood swim team brought high energy, incredible talent, and unrivaled community spirit to the pool all summer long. With a roster of over 220 swimmers this year, the High Tides proved once again that Hallsley is home to one of the most vibrant swim programs around.
Led by Head Coach Mike McKee alongside Assistant Coaches Ellie Mierenfeld, Sam Schwabe, and Ryan Scharpf, the High Tides brought out the absolute best in every swimmer. For the fourth consecutive year, the team went undefeated in the regular season with a stellar 6–0 record in the competitive A Division. At the Chesterfield Aquatic League (CAL) Championship Meet, the High Tides finished a close 2nd out of 23 teams.
Individual and relay performances reached historic heights this summer with three new CAL records set by High Tides swimmers:
Ben Locher: 25M Butterfly
Kellan Yosay, Jake Stanwix, Sloane Royce, and Henry Broadhurst: 200M Medley Relay
Mabel Broadhurst: 100M Freestyle
This season marked a major milestone as the team honored its largest senior class ever. We celebrate our eight graduating seniors: Ali Foldenauer, Addison Lucas, Preston Marchant, Ellie Mierenfeld, Riley Mule, Saylor Narron, John Schwabe, and Liam Thurlow. A special congratulations goes to Preston Marchant, who made High Tides history by becoming the very first swimmer from our team to receive a CAL scholarship at Champs. We are so proud of these young leaders and wish them the absolute best in their next chapters!
While the team's results were impressive, the true heart of the High Tides lies in our focus on fun, sportsmanship, and community. Swimmers learned and perfected their strokes in a supportive environment that emphasized growing together as athletes and neighbors. The summer was packed with unforgettable traditions. Swimmers looked forward to candy raffles at practice and weekly "Fun Practices" packed with games. The team enjoyed weekly treats, including the beloved annual end-of-season pancake breakfast. We celebrated together at both our annual team pool party and end-of-season awards ceremony. Both nights were filled with laughter and team spirit.
A massive thank you to all the coaches, parent volunteers, sponsors, and swimmers who made the 2026 season such a resounding success. We can't wait to see everyone back on the pool deck next summer!
Let's go! Swim fast! Hallsley High Tides!
