Scouts BSA Troop 321

Scouts BSA Troop 321, based out of the Southeast Church of the Nazarene, is truly a fantastic group of girls. Every one of them are the kindest, most friendly, loyal, helpful, and young people. Why these specific adjectives? Because they are a part of the essential Scout Law, and a pledge that our troop follows very well. Whether it’s including guests in activities, contributing ideas when cooking a large dinner, or rafting down a turbulent river, they display each of the aspects of our scout law, and have fun-loving, daring personalities.
Scouts BSA’s main goal is to be a youth lead program, which we follow by making sure that the scouts are learning about leadership through experience or lessons. Our scouts plan the troop events and make decisions about what we are doing in every role. They teach skills to their peers, volunteer for extra jobs, and offer helpful suggestions to one another. The scouts develop responsibility and teamwork through the process.
Our troop is involved in many scouting events outside of our troop. Each year at summer camp, our youth spend a week earning merit badges based off of certain skills ranging from basketry to space exploration to rifle shooting. They also bond with scouts from across America, creating many memories that will last a lifetime. Additionally, our troop has had multiple scouts go through and staff in National Youth Leadership Training. This program teaches them valuable lessons about how to be a servant leader and go through the steps of team development. In the past two years, we have had scouts travel to High Adventure Bases and have had amazing experiences such as backpacking for eleven days at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico and snorkeling and kayaking in the Florida Keys at Sea Base. We also had a scout go to Kandersteg International Scout Center in Switzerland where they met scouts from around the world. Troop 321 encourages our scouts to get out there and become participating members of the world fellowship of scouting.
Our troop gives young girls the opportunity to get outside and experience incredible adventures, learn practical skills, and find lifelong friends. They will have the capability to communicate with their peers and adults and plan events, such as campfires for s’mores and beautiful hikes through the woods. We will always look forward to what we do with a 3…2…1…Blast Off!
