The 2025 Scrivano Cup Volleyball League came to a thrilling close this summer, with nail-biting playoffs and an unforgettable championship weekend.

The playoffs set the tone for the excitement to come—both semifinal matches stretched the full five games, each decided by just two points in the tie-breaking final set. It was a true test of grit and determination, and when the dust settled, Team Thompson and Team Doc Mike advanced to the championship.

The title match, held on an epic summer Saturday, brought out the best of both competition and community. After a hard-fought battle, it was Team The Lost Boys who rose to the occasion, capturing the coveted Scrivano Cup trophy and cementing their place in league history. The winning squad included captain Michael McCaughan, along with Ryan Vandenbussche, Heather D'Agosta, Ciara Nachtigal, Mariah Davis, and Shail Mehta—a powerhouse lineup that delivered when it mattered most.

In addition to team glory, individual achievements were recognized with special awards. Mark Doyle earned honors for most serve points, while Stephanie Green was celebrated as the league’s most improved player. Chelsea Wyse was named Top New Player, a testament to her skill and impact in her first season. Anthony Darkangelo claimed first place for most kills, followed by Matt Doyle in second and Shawn Thompson in third. Colleen Scrivano impressed with zero serve faults for an incredible three consecutive years, and the ever-playful Toilet Bowl Award went to Nick Pinaire for most unforced errors.

Of course, no championship is complete without a proper celebration. The evening rolled right into the 2nd Annual ’Merica After Party, generously hosted by the Catignani family. Neighbors gathered to toast a successful season, share laughs, and carry the energy of the day well into the night.

The Scrivano Cup continues to be more than just volleyball—it’s a tradition that combines fierce competition with friendship, laughter, and the spirit of summer at Hidden Lake.
