As we head into the last chapter of the summer season, Westerville is buzzing with events that promise fun, connection, and unforgettable memories. From live performances to family-friendly adventures, August is packed with ways to make the most of these warm, sunny days.
Sounds of Summer Concert Series – Westerville’s Sounds of Summer Concert Series concludes this month with performances by local 70s and 80s group Long Play (August 2), Westerville Jazz Orchestra (August 9), ZZ Top tribute band Eliminator (August 16), Westerville Symphony (August 23), and ELO tribute band Turn to Stone (August 31). Farmers Market – Uptown Westerville’s annual Farmers Market season is in full swing. Visit the parking lots of the COhatch/North High Brewing property at 240 S. National Night Out – National Night Out will be on Tuesday, August 4. This annual community-building event helps residents connect with local police departments through a fun evening typically full of food, music, and games. Westerville Police Department will host their community party at Huber Village Park from 6 to 8 p.m. (westerville.org/events), and Genoa Township Police will host theirs at McNamara Park from 5 to 8 p.m. (genoatwp.com/residents/events.php).
Uptown Untapped – Uptown Westerville Inc. invites guests to Uptown Untapped from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, August 8, as they transform East Main Street into a lively celebration of Ohio craft beer, food and entertainment. About 20 craft breweries are expected to pour at this 21+ event, which also features food from Uptown eateries, live music, games, and more. Booked for Murder Book Club – Mystery lovers are invited to join Booked for Murder on Thursday, August 13 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Birdie Books. This monthly adult book club explores suspenseful mysteries, gripping thrillers, and page-turning stories filled with secrets and surprises. August’s selection is The God of the Woods by Liz Moore. Night of Hope 2026 — Join the Westerville Education Challenge for its annual Night of Hope on Saturday, August 22 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Westerville North High School’s Jim McCann Stadium. The event features a 5K, 1 Mile, and Family Fun Run, bringing the community together to promote mental health awareness and honor lives lost to suicide. Fourth Friday – This month’s Fourth Friday Festival will be held on August 28 from 6 to 9 p.m. with the theme of School Spirit. Stroll the streets of Uptown Westerville while enjoying shopping, food, entertainment, and community. Plus, Good Medicine Productions will present “10 Silly Things,” an interactive family comedy show filled with physical humor, audience participation, and playful surprises. Camp Rock: The Musical – On Friday, August 28 and Saturday, August 29 at 7 p.m., talented local kids will take the stage in Camp Rock: The Musical presented by Westerville Youth Theatre. Bring a chair or blanket to the Alum Creek North Amphitheater and enjoy this high-energy outdoor performance that’s sure to get the whole family singing and dancing along.
