From Prison to the Neighborhood: Mazey Embraces the Change in Lifestyle
Precious Pet Mazey Kinkel lives in Highland Lakes with her companions Melanie and Jon. The pup is a nine-year-old, 70 pound mix between a Labrador Retriever and German Shepard. Mazey is coated with golden-colored fur and was born with black eyeliner and a dark mask around her face.
Mazey enjoys morning strolls with Jon, chasing his ball, playing catch with the frisbee, lying in the sun, and waiting for the daily UPS driver. Mazey has a keen sense of adventure while joining Melanie on car rides and the family on vacations. After all, she did have a thrilling lifestyle before the family adopted her.
Mazey was raised her first year in a women’s prison trained as a guide dog. The family received the call to adopt her after she failed because they thought she was too timid. The country club was a huge change for her after living the prison life but she is loving the neighborhood.
Mazey is always happy to see the family and can make a stressful day better after seeing her cute face and wagging tail. She appears to have been trained to have awareness of feelings and medical conditions with her intuitiveness and how Mazey will always lay with you when you need her the most.
Mazey lives for receiving her special treats. She will run to her bed and do tricks to earn as many treats as possible! Her guide dog training taught her many tricks. Mazey can walk off a leash and obeys commands instructed to her. She knows how to roll over and will go straight to work mode if you put a guide vest on her.
Mazey had never seen stairs after the family adopted her. She went barreling down the stairs and slid across the hardwood floor after her first attempt at climbing the staircase. She must not have had chew toys before because she wasn’t eager to play with them upon first sight. Now Mazey can’t get enough of them!
Mazey has numerous furry friends around the neighborhood. Cash, Reggie, Summer, Luna, Braxton, Luca, Phoenix, Jet and Cleo deserve recognition for the time they have spent with Mazey around the neighborhood.
The family enjoy Stroll for learning about their neighbors and anything occurring in the neighborhood. The magazine serves as a reminder of the friendly neighborhood the Kinkel family live in.
