For Byron Furdge of Edward Jones, success has always been about combining purpose with persistence. After two decades of trading stocks for personal benefit, Byron turned that passion for learning into a full-fledged career—one rooted in empowering others to take control of their financial futures.

With several degrees, including a master’s in business with a concentration in entrepreneurship from the Keller School of Management, Byron’s professional journey began in international sales for a multinational corporation. Although the role offered global experience, the heavy travel schedule eventually led him to reevaluate his path. “I knew I wanted something that combined my business background, my interest in financial systems, and my desire to serve others,” he explains. That clarity inspired his transition into financial advising—a move that perfectly blended his analytical skills with his commitment to community impact.

Byron’s connection to the National Black MBA Association proved pivotal. While serving on its Business Leader Institute Committee, he gained valuable professional guidance that ultimately led him to Morningstar, where he found his inspiration for becoming a Financial Advisor. His next step came in 2024 when he chose Edward Jones, where Byron fully completed his licensing as a Financial Advisor. Byron has found his experience at Edward Jones to be incredibly encouraging and well-supported.

At Edward Jones, Byron offers clients a full spectrum of financial services, including cash and income management, portfolio management, retirement and education planning, life insurance, and estate strategies. Currently working toward his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification, he emphasizes honesty, education, and collaboration. “Every client has unique goals,” Byron says. “I want them to understand their choices and be part of the process.”

Beyond his advisory work, Byron is deeply involved in his community. A licensed and ordained minister at Second Baptist Church in Elgin, he regularly preaches and supports local initiatives such as the Lewis Simmons Foundation and Food for Greater Elgin. He’s also working with a local middle school to introduce Edward Jones’s Financial Fitness program, which has already reached over one million students nationwide.

Together with his wife, LaTanya, and their son, LaRon, Byron continues to build roots in Elgin—striving to be a trusted neighbor and financial partner who helps others plan with confidence, integrity, and faith in their future.
