Some people fall into real estate by accident. Kelly Thompson-Milner charged into it with intention.

In 2016, she set out to buy her first home. However, the experience was so frustrating that she walked away thinking, “This cannot be how people navigate one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives.” Instead of accepting it, she decided to fix it. She got her license, bought her own house, and stepped into a career that she felt like the universe had been nudging her toward all along.

Before real estate, Kelly was thriving in high-pressure corporate worlds: crisis PR for Sports Authority during its bankruptcy, marketing, grand openings, athlete bookings, recruiting for Vail Resorts, and advertising work for Comcast Spotlight. She knew how to manage chaos and lead people through complicated situations. Real estate simply became the next arena for her skillset.

And Denver? It’s in her DNA.
Her family has been here for more than 90 years.
Kelly grew up running around Crestmoor and Hilltop, recognizing homes by who lived there. Both sides of her parents’ family grew up in Denver residing between Hilltop and Park Hill, and to this day, almost all her family still lives within about that mile radius. 

Her childhood was filled with construction dust and design boards. Her dad built homes. Her mom assisted in designing them. Kelly learned how to take an older home, preserve its charm, and reimagine it for modern life. She even tagged along to closings with her aunt, who invested in real estate. Those early experiences shaped everything.

Today, Kelly brings that same practicality into her business.
She’s seen the market’s highs, lows, and everything in between. She jokes that real estate gives you gray hair faster than most jobs, but she also knows that every move is driven by a life event. Babies. Marriages. Career shifts. Divorces. New beginnings.

Real estate gave her something special: the freedom to work from home and still be present for her 7-month-old daughter, Annie Mae. Yes, she sometimes works 60+ hour weeks. But she also gets the gift of being there for her child.

Her clients have grown with her as well. She’s gone to their baby showers and weddings. And just the same, they’ve watched her get married, start new chapters, and continue her dream in helping others in real estate.

Over ninety-five percent of Kelly’s  business comes from referrals.

A Denver native, Kelly lives in Hilltop with her husband, Brandon, a Southern guy who met his perfect match in a Western girl. They have two big dogs, a baby girl who lights up their world, and a home full of college football on Saturdays. They love home improvement projects, golf, skiing, and finding ways to make old spaces feel fresh again. Kelly describes herself as a bit of an old soul: early riser, early bedtime, routine-loving, and happiest with a project in motion.
