HEAD = IrishFest Atlanta Showcases Country’s Heritage

 

You don’t have to be Irish to enjoy the festivities at this annual festival held in Historic Roswell November 8-10. Organized by Historic Brookhaven resident Teresa Finley, IrishFest Atlanta showcases music, art, food, film, and more from the Emerald Isle.

 

The weekend kicks off Friday evening with a performance of traditional Irish music by The Friel Sisters.   Saturday’s activities include Irish whiskey tasting, bread-making and cooking demonstrations, Irish language workshops, film screenings, dance and music workshops and demonstrations, and more. You can grab a Guinness or other beverage at the festival’s Irish Pub.

 

World-renowned Cherish the Ladies are Saturday night’s headliners with an 8 p.m. concert. They also will offer a workshop on Sunday.

 

Most sessions and performances take place at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center at 950 Forrest Street. Many events are free but others require a purchased ticket. HEAD = Attend the HBNA Fall General Meeting on October 17

 

Come to Capital City Club on Thursday evening, October 17, for Historic Brookhaven Neighborhood Association’s (HBNA’s) Fall General Meeting. The evening kicks off with a social hour at 6 p.m. and includes complimentary beer, wine, and heavy appetizers. The business meeting will follow at 7 p.m.

 

City of Brookhaven Mayor John Park and Councilperson Madeleine Simmons will provide updates on developments and activities in the city. The President of Livable Buckhead Denise Starling will speak on the organization’s work and its impact on Historic Brookhaven.

 HEAD = Calling all Ghosts and Goblins to the Neighborhood Halloween Party

 

Join your neighbors and friends at the annual Historic Brookhaven Halloween Party to be held on October 31 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on East Brookhaven Drive. A DJ, Chick-fil-A retail, and more fun activities will take place in the triangle at the intersection of East Brookhaven and Lakehaven Drives and Davidson Avenue.

 

East Brookhaven Drive will be blocked from the triangle to Club Drive. The street will be manned by Atlanta Police Department officers at each end so families can trick or treat safely.

 

The event will start with a costume parade at 5 p.m. Show up dressed and join in the fun!
