Tara always dreamed of running her own business. When she and her husband Matt moved from Chicago to St. Pete, she found the place where she felt most at home. They built a life near the water with their two sons, Davis and Henry, and their beloved dog, Louise. Life in St. Pete inspired Tara to launch the kind of creative career she once imagined as a young girl.

Tara Gibson Interiors began in 2021 after the birth of her first son, when she decided not to return to working for someone else. With early support from clients in Naples and continued word of mouth, her design firm quickly grew. Today, TGI is a full service interior design studio focused on high end residential work, including new construction, renovations, additions, and full furnishings. Every project is rooted in quality materials, thoughtful construction knowledge, and a commitment to creating homes that feel deeply personal and intentionally designed.

While settling into her studio, Tara noticed a gap in the St. Pete market. She envisioned a warm, modern, and layered aesthetic that residents could bring into their homes without needing a designer. When the perfect storefront became available thanks to her real estate agent, Jenna Malowany, she opened Gibson's on Central. The shop offers a curated selection of furniture, rugs, local art, accessories, and lifestyle pieces at approachable price points. It is designed to be a one stop source for home updates or a thoughtful, unique gift.

Tara and her team pride themselves on offering expertise shaped by years of hands on industry experience. They believe in quality over quantity and approach every project and product with care. They regularly partner with local organizations, including the Sweet Friend Foundation, which supports experiential learning opportunities for underprivileged youth in Pinellas County.
