Neighbors Who Inspire
The Stratford’s of Hunting Creek

Hunting Creek is more than just a neighborhood—for Neil and Carol Stratford, this community has become a haven of friendship, healing, and meaningful connections.
Family First: A Story of Love, Loss, and Legacy
Neil and Carol met in 1995 at the Doral Resort in Miami, where a PGA event brought them together: Carol managed marketing at the resort, and Neil oversaw the media center. Since then, their journey has taken them across the country and around the world, raising three incredible children along the way.
Their eldest son, Ben, passed away in June 2023 at the age of 21. A junior at the University of Kentucky studying Psychology, Ben had a heart for helping others and a passion for sports. His vibrant spirit lives through Ben’s Bright Horizons Foundation, established in his honor to create opportunities and spread kindness—a mission the Stratfords are deeply devoted to.
Their daughter, Charlotte (21), is also a junior at the University of Kentucky, pursuing a career in nursing. Her boyfriend, Jonathon Gomez, plays professional soccer in the Greek Super League. Jake (15), a freshman at Trinity High School, is full of energy, sharp humor, and talent both on the football field and behind a video game controller. At home, the family is rounded out by three dogs—Stella, Tipsy, and Pappy—each with their own big personality and special place in the household.
Work, Giving Back, and Making an Impact
Carol and Neil bring both entrepreneurial spirit and heart to everything they do—and they’ve built careers rooted in innovation, service, and leadership.
Carol serves as the Managing Director of the Consulting Group at Arch Amenities, a national leader in lifestyle and hospitality services. She’s also a Managing Partner of SunQuest Property Group in Hilton Head, a minority owner of FortraLife Supplements, and plays a key leadership role as Vice President and Board Member of the Ben’s Bright Horizons Foundation.
Neil is the Founder and CEO of Strat-Comm, a strategic communications and media company he launched in 1997. Like Carol, he also holds leadership roles in SunQuest Property Group and FortraLife Supplements and serves as President and Board Member of Ben’s Bright Horizons Foundation.
Both Carol and Neil work primarily from home, which gives them the flexibility to stay closely connected to their family while driving forward their professional and philanthropic missions. Whether managing real estate portfolios, leading strategic teams, or planning the next charitable event, they are deeply motivated by purpose.
Exploring the World, One Memory at a Time
For the Stratfords, travel has always been a source of joy, bonding, and unforgettable memories. From the jungles of Costa Rica to the beaches of Bermuda, they are a family that loves adventure.
One of their favorite destinations is Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic, where they’ve snorkeled with starfish, cruised around the resort in golf carts, and played golf on Teeth of the Dog, the top-rated course in the Caribbean.
A standout memory was celebrating Carol’s 50th birthday in Costa Rica—ziplining through treetops despite a few nerves, surrounded by the breathtaking canopy and playful (but feisty!) monkeys on the beach. “It was the perfect mix of excitement, laughter, and nature,” Carol recalls.
Whether they’re discovering a new island or grilling out at home after a local adventure, the Stratfords cherish the time they spend together.
Hunting Creek Feels Like Home
After a decade in Briar Hill Estates, the Stratfords found it easy to settle into Hunting Creek. Neil enjoys playing golf with local men’s groups, and Carol has jumped into community events like Bunco nights and club dinners.
They’ve quickly become part of the neighborhood’s fabric, especially through the community’s heartfelt support of Ben’s Bright Horizons Golf & Silent Auction, hosted right here in Hunting Creek. “The way our neighbors showed up for us and Ben’s legacy—it was overwhelming in the best way,” Neil shares.
For the Stratfords, Hunting Creek is more than a beautiful place to live—it’s where they’ve found connection, comfort, and the next chapter of their family story.
