John and Teresa Holloway: 43 Years of Faith, Family, and Community

Some families don’t just live in a community, they help shape it. For more than 35 years, John and Teresa Holloway have been a steady, familiar presence in the Teays Valley, building a life centered on family, faith, and meaningful connections. From their home on Teays Valley Road, the Holloways have watched the valley grow and change while remaining firmly rooted in the place they love.

Married since 1981, John and Teresa recently celebrated 43 years together, a milestone that reflects a lifetime of shared experiences, hard work, laughter, and love. The two met through mutual friends, with John growing up in Fraziers Bottom and Teresa in Cross Lanes.

Raising their daughters, Lindsey and Lauren was a decision the Holloways never questioned. Both girls are proud graduates of Hurricane High School, and their parents couldn’t be more proud of the paths they have taken. Lindsey graduated from the University of Charleston, while Lauren went on to earn her degree from West Virginia University. Watching their daughters grow and succeed has been one of John and Teresa’s greatest joys.

For nearly three decades, many families throughout the valley came to know the Holloways through Holloway Photography. For 29 years, John and Teresa had the privilege of capturing weddings, senior portraits, and family milestones, moments that often marked the beginning of new chapters for others. Photography wasn’t just a business, it was a way to celebrate people and preserve memories, and it allowed the Holloways to connect with countless families across the community.

Today, their commitment to the valley continues in new ways. John is employed with USFoods, and Teresa works at Vandalia Health CAMC Teays Valley, both roles allowing them to serve our community while staying close to home and family.

At the center of their lives is family time, especially time spent with their grandchildren. John enjoys hunting, working with firearms, and photographing those precious moments with his grandchildren, while Teresa finds happiness in shopping, gardening, and simply being present for everyday moments with them. Their home is made even warmer by two beloved pets, Ruby and Honey, who are always close by.

When they’re not at home, the Holloways enjoy traveling together, often returning to favorite destinations like Clearwater, Florida, The Greenbrier, and Las Vegas. Dining out is another favorite tradition, with stops at La Banca, LongHorn Steakhouse, Taste of Asia, and The Venetian. Their faith also plays an important role in their lives, and they are active members of Mount Vernon Baptist Church. On game days, you’ll often find them cheering on WVU and Marshall.

Through decades of marriage, family milestones, careers, and community involvement, John and Teresa Holloway continue to live at the heart of the valley. Their story is a reminder that community isn’t just about where you live, it’s about the relationships you build, the memories you create, and the love you share along the way.
