RECORD SETTING DAY FOR IBIS FRIENDS OF VETERANS!

Glory Glory Hallelujah! The Ibis community celebrated its finest hour on Monday, April 17th. If you have ever questioned what a wonderful place you live in, Monday proved how special it is. More than 300 members came out to show their support for the Ibis Friends of Veterans Golf Tournament. In addition, several hundred more supported the cause by purchasing signs, raffle tickets and auction items as well as participating in the major donor program. The Friends of Veterans Board has reported that when the official numbers are calculated, 2023 will be our most successful for sure. They credit the Club’s staff and management for making this day possible. But they brag the most about their friends and neighbors that support our most important responsibility.  IFOV will donate 98% of every penny raised to agencies that help our Veterans with places to live, health care both physical and emotional, finances, food and clothing, education and so much more.

The day began with lunch and festivities in a packed ballroom. We were greeted with a very patriotic scene highlighted by many of the Veterans that we have helped in the past. It was so important to them to be here to thank the Ibis community for supporting them in their challenge to work back into what we know as an everyday way of life. The color guard from the West Palm Beach County Fire and Rescue was amazing as was our Veteran crooner Tony Dente singing our National Anthem.

Despite the rain, the weather couldn't dampen the spirit that surrounded the day. In the evening everyone returned to the packed ballroom where spirits were high and patriotism was on full display. There were many winners including raffle prizes such as a 2024 trail fee, a watch from Mayor’s Jewelers, a day with the County Sheriff, a day with Tennis Director Jay Berger, rounds of golf with Robin Boretti and Chris Didio and many more. As we have come to expect but never take for granted, the food and presentation were over the top.

The thousands of Veterans that live in South Florida are so extremely appreciative of everything we do for them. But the biggest beneficiaries of the day go to the people of Ibis that once again stepped up to make a difference. We clearly understand that we couldn’t live in this paradise that we enjoy every day if it wasn’t for our brave soldiers who put their lives on the line for our freedom. Ibis Friends of Veterans wants to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation for how wonderfully all of Ibis has supported the cause.
