Taking Roofing to New Heights
Reliably Crafted Roofing Built to Protect Through Every Season
As the oldest of six children, Jon Taylor grew up in Longview, Washington, where he was homeschooled by his mother, Melody. Raised in a family that emphasized strong values and personal responsibility, he learned early on that if he wanted something, he had to work for it. That mindset—rooted in discipline and work ethic—would become the foundation of his career.
During his early college years, Jon explored a variety of jobs but found his passion in residential construction, working with Croff Construction. Under the mentorship of Bob Croff, he gained invaluable experience not only in the hands-on craft of building homes, but also in the strategic and operational side of running a business. When Croff Construction closed in 2008, Jon continued his education, transferring to Corban University in Salem, where he played collegiate soccer while working part-time for several local roofing companies.
After graduating in 2011 with a degree in business, Jon committed himself fully to the roofing industry. Through his work, he developed a keen understanding of customer needs and began to recognize gaps in service, quality, and communication within the market. Motivated by a desire to deliver a better experience—and consistently better results—he founded Valley Roofing.
Today, Valley Roofing provides both residential and commercial roofing services, including skylight installation. Known for exceptional responsiveness and attention to detail, the company operates under its guiding principle: Dedicated to Quality. This commitment shapes every interaction, from the first consultation to project completion and beyond. Valley Roofing also offers transferable lifetime workmanship coverage, giving homeowners long-term confidence whether they remain in their home for decades or pass it on to future generations.
Deeply rooted in the community, Valley Roofing is an active chamber member and participates in local initiatives such as street cleanups. The company also supports youth development by sponsoring soccer outreach programs through Capital Futbol Club (CFC) and partners with families involved in Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Salem.
Jon believes that the most challenging seasons often produce the greatest growth—not just financially, but in character. Adversity, he says, has the power to strengthen individuals and unify teams, creating a culture that feels more like a work family than a workplace.
Looking ahead, Valley Roofing remains committed to maintaining a strong reputation for excellence and service throughout the Willamette Valley. Homeowners are encouraged to monitor their roofs for signs of wear, such as unusual bumps or indentations, and to schedule a free evaluation if concerns arise. The company prides itself on honest communication, clear estimates, and a no-pressure approach—because earning trust matters just as much as delivering results.
“We look forward to meeting you.”
