Family, faith, and a whole lot of fun keep the Steffen household running strong. Jared Steffen (43), a proud graduate of Texas A&M University Class of 2004, grew up in Brenham, Texas, and now channels his entrepreneurial spirit into owning multiple locations of Jersey Mike’s Subs in the Bryan/College Station area. His wife, Lauren (42), also an Aggie (Class of 2005), spent part of her childhood in Alaska before pursuing her passion for medicine. Today, she serves families locally as a family medicine physician with Baylor Scott & White at the Wellborn clinic. Together, they are raising three energetic daughters who keep life lively and adventure-filled. Kaylee (10) shines as a Lil Wrangler western dance team member who loves reading, crafting, and exploring the outdoors. Twins Kimber and Kolette (7), born at just 25 weeks, are the family’s miracle duo. While their personalities differ, they share a love for tumbling and adding laughter and excitement to everyday life. Rounding out the family are Buttons, their incredibly fluffy cat, and Mark, their betta fish.
Jared and Lauren first met in true Texas fashion — at Zeigfest at Lake Bryan, where mutual friends and a dance sparked their relationship. After Lauren completed her residency in Denver, the couple moved to College Station in 2015 to be closer to loved ones and to begin Jared’s journey into business ownership. After living in Mission Ranch for several years, they built their forever home in the neighborhood they had always admired, moving in during May of 2025. When they aren’t busy with work or school activities, you can often find the Steffens wake surfing together at the lake, traveling, or enjoying time with friends and their tailgating group at Aggie sporting events.
Community connection is deeply important to the family. They love supporting local businesses, including favorites like Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux, The Republic Steakhouse, Primrose Path, and a go-to family favorite, Polly’s Cocina. Giving back is equally meaningful. The family is actively involved with the Bubba Moore Foundation, helping raise funds for local individuals and organizations in need. Each March, Jared’s businesses participate in Jersey Mike’s “Day of Giving,” donating 100 percent of profits to organizations like the Bubba Moore Foundation and Special Olympics.
While they’ve only been in the neighborhood a short time, their favorite moments have been the simple ones — watching their daughters play outside with neighbors and building meaningful friendships close to home. With a strong commitment to family, community, and making memories on and off the water, the Steffen family is already making a lasting impact wherever they go.
