Cinnamon Sugar Pecans

A Taste of Home - a Sweet Recipe Passed Along to Granny

For Laura Dillon, fall means cooler days, football, and the sweet scent of cinnamon sugar pecans filling her home. A neighborhood resident for 10 years, Laura treasures the strong sense of community here.
This beloved game-day treat—passed from her mother-in-law via a friend—needs only pecans, sugar, cinnamon, salt, and egg whites, plus Laura’s signature splash of vanilla. She suggests parchment paper for easy cleanup, and after a slow bake at 300°F, you get golden, crunchy pecans perfect for sharing… if they make it off the pan.
Whether in a pretty dish, wrapped as a gift, or eaten warm from the oven, Laura’s Cinnamon Sugar Pecans are a taste of home, friendship, and tradition.

Ingredients
  • 1½ pounds pecans
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F.
  2. In a large bowl, beat egg white, water, and vanilla until frothy.

  4. Add pecans and toss until well coated.
  5. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  6. Spread pecans evenly on the sheet.
