Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 cups (one 12-ounce bag) dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips 

Instructions
To make the cookies, preheat your oven and prepare baking sheets. Cream together the softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and pumpkin puree. In a separate bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, then fold in the chocolate chips. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheets and bake until the edges are golden brown. Allow the cookies to cool.
