Meet Bradley Sherman Robinson

Life According to Brad, the Goldendoodle

Hi! I’d say woof-woof, but barking really isn’t my thing.

My name is Bradley Sherman Robinson, but you can call me Brad. I am an eight-year-old Goldendoodle; heavy on the poodle side since my dad was a 3/4 Standard Poodle. I live with my human parents, Brian and Cindy Robinson. My dad, Farley, lived with them too, but he sadly died when I was just three, and now he’s in doggy heaven with some of my distant relatives (at least that’s what I’m told).

My family says I am the best dog ever, aside from my particular food preferences, and that I am very lovable. Attention-seeking is perhaps one of my less desirable traits; you might even say I’m borderline needy. Touch is my love language, so naturally, I either want my paw touching someone at all times or someone’s hand petting me. If I were to describe myself, I’d say I’m easy-going, except when there are thunderstorms (they make me a little skittish), but otherwise I’m friendly and, as I mentioned before, not one to bark just to be barking. Another interesting fact about myself is that if you stare into my eyes long enough, I can actually see into your soul.

My doggy mom, Ivory, lives in Dallas with my human mom’s best friend. Those two dog-loving ladies decided they wanted puppies, and they wanted them to come from my dad, Farley, and my mom, Ivory. So they set up a weekend together for my parents “to meet,” and voilà! Two months later, I was born! After my short time in Dallas, I moved to Edmond when I was eight weeks old. It was so great to meet my dad! He taught me so many things, like how to go up and down the stairs and that car rides don’t have to be scary. We cuddled a lot. I still miss him (I think my human parents still do, too).

I moved into Iron Horse Ranch just over a year ago, and I love it! At our old house, chasing squirrels around my backyard was my absolute favorite activity. But now I enjoy sitting in my new backyard, watching all my other four-legged friends take their owners on walks. The best thing tho is when I take my own mommy or daddy on a walk around the pond!

My family has some land in Guthrie, so when I hear the word “Guthrie,” I am up on all fours, dancing around the kitchen, just waiting for that truck door to open! I jump in, and off we go! I love all the sights and smells in the country, especially the cows across the street! When we are there, daddy lets me run free! Yahoo!!

I wish I could say I enjoy all the little humans (aka grands ???) that come to my new house, but they take mommy’s attention away from me. Mommy and daddy really love them, though, so I guess I’ll continue to permit their visits and tolerate their distractions.

Duck Jerky treats first thing in the morning get my day started just right! I love going in and out the back door for no apparent reason at all. And the rug by the front door has become my special spot. I’m not allowed in beds or on the couches, so comfy rugs are the best! My Bucky bandanna is also very special to me. Mommy changes my bandanna to match the different seasons throughout the year, which I actually think is kind of special.

Family watchdog I am not (again, I’m just not a fan of barking). But comforter and companion I have mastered. If you need a snuggle, I’m your dog. There have been whispers that mommy and daddy are considering inviting another Goldendoodle into our home. I hope it’s true! I guess time will tell, but they better hurry. I’m just not as young as I used to be. If they expect ME to do any teaching or training, time is of the essence!

Thanks for taking the time to get to know me, and don’t hesitate to stop along the fence sometime to say hi!
