From Tragedy to Hope: Kitt Wakeley’s "Seven Seasons" Earns Intercontinental Music Award Nomination
Following a 2026 GRAMMY® nod, Wakeley's deeply personal project continues to gain recognition in the Contemporary Instrumental space for its poignant exploration of life's most interrupting moments.
Fresh off a 2026 GRAMMY® nomination, Oklahoma composer and Iron Horse Ranch resident Kitt Wakeley's latest album, Seven Seasons, continues to earn international recognition. The powerful instrumental project has now been nominated for an Intercontinental Music Award for Best Contemporary Instrumental, further celebrating an album that transforms stories of tragedy, resilience, and hope into music.
The album is based on the 42 interviews with persons who had experienced tragedy and trauma. These interviews included those who experienced 9/11, the OKC Bombing, tornadoes, the Palisades Fires, the loss of a child, spouse, and other life-interrupting moments.
There are seven unique phases that all people go through when they experience trauma. This includes a season of innocence, tragedy, disbelief, confusion, why, reflection, and hope. Kitt’s hope was to bring light to those interviews through music and help highlight the struggles we all experience.
