Kitchen Tune-Up of Northwest Greensboro

Meet Chad and Nadine Sutcliffe, the couple behind Kitchen Tune-Up of Northwest Greensboro, and discover how they’re helping homeowners love their kitchens again.

On most days, Chad Sutcliffe is thinking about cabinets, countertops, and customer service—but ask him what started it all, and he’ll probably talk about basketball.
Chad and his wife Nadine have spent years investing in their community, whether it’s through their own three kids, their neighborhood, or the youth basketball program they’ve helped run for nearly three decades.
“I’ve always believed in the power of showing up for people,” Chad says. “In sports, in business, in life—it’s the same idea. You put in the work, you treat people right, and you keep showing up.”
In 2024, the Sutcliffes decided it was time to show up in a new way: by opening Kitchen Tune-Up of Northwest Greensboro, a remodeling business focused on making kitchen upgrades simple, affordable, and stress-free for local homeowners.
“We love this community and wanted to build something here,” says Nadine. “Opening Kitchen Tune-Up felt like the right way to connect with people and help them love their homes a little more.”
A Simpler Way to Upgrade Your Kitchen
Kitchen Tune-Up offers services designed to fit different timelines, budgets, and needs—from quick cabinet updates to full custom installations—all with an emphasis on reducing stress for homeowners.
“We try to meet people where they are,” Chad says. “For some, that means starting fresh with a new layout, custom cabinets, and new countertops. For others, it’s smaller adjustments that make a kitchen they already love work better, like adding rollout trays or spice organizers.”
“Most customers fall somewhere in the middle,” Nadine adds. “They want a modern look without the cost or disruption of a full remodel. That’s where cabinet refacing has been a big hit.”
With cabinet refacing, homeowners choose new door colors and styles, allowing them to shift from dark to light or from ornate to streamlined. The process replaces all doors and drawer fronts and adds a matching veneer to the cabinet frames. “It gives that ‘new kitchen’ feel without the mess or long timeline,” Chad says. For those with tighter budgets, cabinet painting delivers a fresh look quickly and effectively.
“One thing people appreciate is that they only need to work through us,” Chad explains. “We coordinate everything—countertops, plumbing, installation—so homeowners don’t have to act as project managers.” Most jobs are completed within a week, minimizing disruption.
Kitchen Tune-Up uses high-quality products, most made in the U.S., many with lifetime warranties. But what the Sutcliffes emphasize most is their service.
“Almost everyone has had a bad experience with a contractor—someone running late, overcharging, or not finishing the job,” Chad says. “Our goal is to provide 5-star service from the first meeting to the final walkthrough.”
They follow a set of Trustpoints, ensuring timeliness, clear communication, respect for the home, and thoughtful solutions. “One of the most important Trustpoints is listening first,” Nadine says. “Every homeowner is different. Our job is to understand what matters to them and recommend the right solution for their space and lifestyle.”
Meet the Sutcliffes
Chad and Nadine live in Greensboro with their three teenagers, a dog, and a cat, all of whom keep life busy and full of surprises. They love spending time outdoors, whether it’s hiking local trails or heading to the mountains and beaches across North Carolina.
Before starting Kitchen Tune-Up, Chad worked in corporate leadership roles for companies like UnitedHealthcare and Cigna, leading international operations and managing teams across the globe. He holds an engineering degree from Notre Dame, an MBA, and a Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
“I’ve been fortunate to work all over the world, but the chance to build a small business right here in Greensboro—it’s been a really meaningful shift,” he says.
That desire to make a difference on a local level is nothing new for the Sutcliffes. Since 1995, Chad has co-led the Jumpball Basketball Programme, a free summer camp in Jamaica and Haiti that teaches basketball and life skills to hundreds of kids each year.
“Our mission has always been about more than basketball,” Chad says. “It’s about teamwork, leadership, and helping kids see what they’re capable of. We’ve had campers grow up to become coaches, and now even our own kids have gotten involved. That’s been one of the proudest things in my life.”
The Sutcliffes say Greensboro has quickly become home in all the ways that matter. “We love the small-town feel, the schools, the sense of community—it checks all the boxes for us,” says Nadine.
Kitchen Tune-Up recently signed on as a proud sponsor of Northern Guilford Athletics, a partnership that reflects their commitment to supporting local families, schools, and student-athletes.
“At the end of the day, we’re your neighbors,” Chad says. “We’re not just remodeling kitchens—we’re building relationships. We want people to feel good when they see our name, and even better when they walk into their new kitchen.”
