Rising Above
How Soap On A Rope Built a Reputation from the Ground Up
For Brady King, founder of Soap On A Rope, success didn’t happen overnight—it was built step by step, and often several stories off the ground.
A Savannah native, Brady’s journey into the world of exterior cleaning began earlier than most. At just 14 years old, he started cleaning windows for a family friend from church, unknowingly laying the foundation for what would become a lifelong career. After moving to Savannah at age 10 when his father was transferred from Newark, New Jersey, Brady grew up with a deep connection to the community he now proudly serves.
While attending college in Chattanooga, Brady discovered a passion for rock climbing—an interest that would later shape his professional path in a unique way. After graduation, he moved to Washington, D.C., where he found an opportunity to merge his climbing skills with high-rise window cleaning. Working on buildings in both Washington, D.C. and New York City, he gained hands-on experience in advanced techniques, safety protocols, and the specialized skills required for high-access work.
In October of 2000, a return trip home to Savannah turned into something more permanent. Inspired by both his experience and his roots, Brady launched Soap On A Rope with a simple goal: to provide exceptional window cleaning services with unmatched attention to detail.
Over the past two decades, the company has grown significantly. Today, Soap On A Rope offers a full range of services, from residential interior and exterior window cleaning to power washing, roof and gutter cleaning, vine removal, and comprehensive exterior maintenance. Their work spans everything from historic glass to modern storm windows, serving both homes and commercial properties throughout the Lowcountry and beyond—from Bluffton to Jacksonville.
What truly sets Soap On A Rope apart is its ability to handle high-access work safely and effectively. With specialized training, full insurance coverage, and the capability to work at significant heights, the team brings a level of expertise that few competitors can match. Their in-house training program ensures that every technician is equipped with the skills needed to care for the wide variety of surfaces found in the Savannah area, always using the proper techniques and pressure to protect each property.
The company’s growth has also allowed for dedicated residential and commercial teams, ensuring focused, high-quality service across every project. Looking ahead, Brady and his team are excited to continue expanding into new neighborhoods and enhancing their customer experience—including plans to introduce a feature on their website where clients can get to know the technicians behind the work.
Despite its regional reach, Soap On A Rope remains deeply rooted in Savannah. As an Ardsley Park resident for more than 20 years, Brady understands firsthand the importance of maintaining homes in a coastal climate. His advice to neighbors is simple but impactful: stay proactive.
“Routine maintenance is the best way to prevent larger, more costly issues down the road,” he says. “We take pride in helping our neighbors protect their homes and keep our community looking its best.”
With a blend of hometown pride, technical expertise, and a willingness to go above and beyond—quite literally—Soap On A Rope continues to raise the standard for exterior cleaning across the Southeast.
