Jules, Gunner, and Faye
Three Sets of Paws, Three Personalities
Faye
Just a short walk from Bluff Drive, Isle of Hope resident Kate Hilliker spends her time giving back in a meaningful way — volunteering with Chatham County Animal Services. This month, she’s shining a light on three special dogs who have been patiently waiting for their forever homes.
Jules is a 1-year-old black-and-white terrier mix with a joyful, outgoing spirit. She’s the kind of dog who greets everyone like an old friend, whether they walk on two legs or four. In the play yard, Jules can often be found bounding after toys with contagious enthusiasm.
Gunner, an 8-year-old brindle mixed breed, is the definition of a steady companion. With soulful eyes and a calm presence, he’s happiest sticking close to his person. One unforgettable moment came when Gunner met the Grinch during a holiday visit to the shelter — a gentle reminder of how much he enjoys simple connection.
Then there’s Faye, a 3-year-old gray-and-white Staffordshire mix who lives for quiet closeness. Sweet and snuggly, she loves curling up so near that her wagging tail sometimes taps her right on the nose.
All three dogs share a love of treats (taken politely, of course), peanut-butter-filled Kongs, and cozy blankets on chilly days. They enjoy walks, playgroups, and special “Doggie Day Out” adventures around town — but what they want most is a home of their own.
Jules, Gunner, and Faye are ready for whatever comes next, whether it’s neighborhood strolls or lazy afternoons on the couch — as long as it’s with their forever family.
