Meet the Bourbons

Cathryn and Jay Bourbon, along with their two daughters, Merrick and Charlotte, have embraced life on Isle of Hope with open hearts and a love for community. Cathryn, a Savannah native who grew up in nearby Beaulieu, has always felt at home in the area. Having lived on Isle of Hope for eight years, she and Jay—who she met in downtown Savannah—have built a life full of family, work, and shared traditions.

Cathryn works as a realtor with ERA Southeast Coastal, and Jay is in commercial HVAC sales. Their two daughters, Merrick and Charlotte, bring a lively energy to the household. Both girls attend St. James, where they excel academically and actively participate in extracurriculars. Charlotte, recently awarded “Disciple of the Month” for her knowledge, shines on the swim team, basketball court, soccer field, and in dance class. Merrick, calm and composed, is currently thriving in her French course and on the same swim team, recently celebrating a City Championship win with the Sharks.

The Bourbon family, joined by their spirited one-year-old Labrador, Julep, loves to explore the neighborhood’s many amenities. Frequent bike rides to the pool, lemonade stands, and swim team events keep them engaged with friends and neighbors. Castaways is a favorite dining spot for Cathryn, while the girls are big fans of Tequila's Town and Polks for their famous boiled peanuts.

For holidays and special occasions, the Bourbons gather at Cathryn’s parents’ house on Montgomery Bluff. These family celebrations are cherished moments, full of laughter and connection. “Our neighbors are the best,” Cathryn shares, reflecting on the kindness and warmth that permeate Isle of Hope. The family’s involvement with St. James adds another layer of community spirit, strengthening bonds with those around them.

The Bourbon family continues to bring their unique talents and personalities to Isle of Hope, embodying the neighborhood’s blend of tradition, friendliness, and vibrant energy. With each bike ride, family gathering, and community event, they reinforce the tight-knit fabric that makes Isle of Hope feel like home.
