Finn the Blue Nose Pitbull
Neighborhood Hero with a Big Heart
Stephanie Egger and her family have lived on Isle of Hope for 11 years, appreciating its natural beauty and welcoming atmosphere. Among the family’s joys is Finn, a nine-year-old male Blue Nose Pitbull who has become a cherished presence in the area.
Adopted as a lanky two-month-old puppy through Coastal Pet Rescue, Finn’s journey is as remarkable as his name. Rescued with his littermates on the release day of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie, each puppy was named after a character from the franchise. Stephanie’s family, fans of Star Wars, decided to keep the name Finn. Although they initially thought he might have Great Dane ancestry, they soon realized he was all Pitbull—a discovery they wholeheartedly embraced.
Finn is renowned for his gentle and loving personality. Over the years, he has helped over 25 foster dogs transition into well-behaved companions ready for adoption. His standout quality is his kindness—Finn greets everyone, human or animal, with warmth and enthusiasm. He also has a quirky talent: unstuffing toys in record time, with his favorite being a trusty jolly ball.
One of Stephanie’s favorite memories is Finn’s bond with a rescued Great Dane named Charlie. On Charlie’s first night home, Finn lay across his belly, offering comfort and reassurance. The two became inseparable until Charlie’s passing.
Finn enjoys walks to the bluff, hiking at Skidaway Island, and treats from Woof Gang Bakery. Daffin Park is another favorite spot. In the neighborhood, he loved spending time with Fletcher the Schnauzer, often snuggling during visits.
For Stephanie, Finn is more than a pet—he’s a reminder of the power of love, resilience, and the joy a loyal companion brings to everyday life.
