Bella Jane

A Spirited Pup with Island Roots

For Anna and Tash Rovolis, Isle of Hope has been home for 27 years, a place they cherish for its beauty and friendly neighbors. This spring, their household grew by four paws when Bella Jane, a German shorthaired pointer, bounded into their lives.

Only 7 months old, Bella Jane is already full of personality. True to her breed’s bird-dog heritage, she has boundless energy and a mischievous streak. She especially delights in being chased, often clutching something she shouldn’t have and racing off with a gleam in her eye. Amazon boxes and water buffalo ears are her favorite treasures, though she’s just as happy with a good snuggle — a memory the Rovolis family recalls fondly from her first days at home.

Her name carries special meaning, too. Anna chose “Bella” for its beauty, while her cousin and close friend, Suzanna Shiver, added the middle name “Jane.” The combination perfectly suits this playful yet headstrong pup.

Bella Jane is rarely without company. Her best friend, Sir Whaler Blue Shiver, is often by her side, the two enjoying endless games together. Around the island, Bella Jane is happiest when exploring wide-open spaces, with dreams of running through fields or splashing around a lake.

Though she’s young, Bella Jane has already become a beloved part of the Rovolis family’s life on Isle of Hope — a reminder of how joyfully pets can weave themselves into both family and community.
