19 Rose Avenue
A Home That Grows With Family

For the past 20 years, Al and Martha Gray Edwards have called 19 Rose Avenue home, creating a space that has evolved alongside their family. Their daughter, Katherine Edwards, also shares the home, where warmth and tradition define both its character and the life within its walls.
Originally a modest two-bedroom, one-bath house, the home has undergone thoughtful expansions to accommodate changing needs. The addition of a great room, an extra bath, and a bedroom above the garage has transformed it while preserving its welcoming charm.
The home’s traditional style is complemented by unique architectural choices. Among the most striking are two antique English corner cabinets, which, due to their height, required a creative renovation. To make them fit, the family lowered the great room’s floor, ensuring the cabinets would have a permanent place. It’s a detail that not only speaks to their love for timeless pieces but also to their commitment to making the house truly their own.
Gatherings are at the heart of this home. Thanksgiving and Christmas bring loved ones together, with neighbors pitching in to provide extra chairs when the dining room overflows with guests. Even with 17 people around the table one year, the spirit of hospitality remained central—an Isle of Hope tradition in itself.
For the Edwards family, 19 Rose Avenue isn’t just a house; it’s a reflection of years spent making memories, welcoming guests, and adapting their space to fit the moments that matter most.
