Building a Bigger “We”
Justin Jones & Chatham-Savannah Citizen Advocacy
For Isle of Hope resident Justin Jones, community isn’t just where you live — it’s something you build, one relationship at a time. Through his work with Chatham-Savannah Citizen Advocacy, Justin helps connect people who might otherwise never meet, fostering bonds that bring protection, stability, belonging, and friendship.
Now in his fourth year on the organization’s board of directors and serving his second term as Events Committee Chair, Justin has seen firsthand how one connection can change a life. “We pair advocates and protégés with similar interests,” he explained. “Those one-to-one relationships have a ripple effect across the community.”
That ripple is especially strong on Isle of Hope, where many current and former board members, advocates, and sponsors call home. “Our neighborhood has always shown up,” Justin said. “So many Isle of Hope residents have been involved through the years — serving on the board, sponsoring events, or advocating for a protégé. It’s a quiet network of people doing good work.”
On the front lines, coordinator and executive director George Seaborough and associate coordinator Robert (Rob) Douberly Jr. keep that good work moving forward each day. They handle the important task of building and supporting matches between advocates and protégés — the heart of what makes Citizen Advocacy thrive.
Chatham-Savannah Citizen Advocacy will host its annual fundraiser at the Isle of Hope Marina on Feb. 1, 2026, from 3 to 6 p.m. The family-friendly event will feature oysters, chili, chicken fingers, a silent auction, and the return of the popular “mystery Yeti.”
