Shear Elegance Salon

Ashley Vick’s Passion for Hair and Community

For Isle of Hope resident Ashley Vick, helping people feel confident and refreshed has been a lifelong pursuit. As the owner and lead educator at Shear Elegance Salon, Vick has spent nearly two decades building a space where professional artistry and a welcoming atmosphere go hand in hand.

Vick and her two children, Hunter, 12, and Wymberly, 9, have called Isle of Hope home for the past 11 years. Her connection to the community runs deep, and that spirit of hospitality is reflected in the culture she has cultivated at the salon.

Shear Elegance Salon first opened in Sandfly in 2007 when Vick was just 23 years old. After a fire in 2020 forced the business to relocate, the salon found a new home off White Bluff Road. As it approaches its 20th anniversary this September, Shear Elegance continues to evolve while staying true to its original vision: offering high-end hair and skin care services in a relaxed, friendly environment.

Over the past five years, Vick has focused on developing a positive team culture that makes every guest feel comfortable the moment they walk through the door. The salon’s staff of eight brings a range of specialties in hair artistry, allowing clients to receive personalized service tailored to their style and needs.

Vick’s journey began at age 18 when she started working as a hairstylist. Her passion for continuing education still drives her work today as both a stylist and mentor.

When it comes to hair care, Vick offers one piece of advice she shares with clients often: avoid shampooing every day and invest in quality products to maintain a healthy scalp.

Shear Elegance Salon welcomes men, women, and children and is always accepting new clients.
