Friedman's Framing

A Legacy Built Around What Matters Most

For nearly 125 years, Friedman’s Framing has quietly shaped how Savannah lives with art. Founded in 1902 as Friedman’s Art Store downtown, the business has evolved over generations—trading paint tubes and sketchpads for a singular focus on custom framing, preservation, and presentation.

Executive Vice President Adam Fins came to Savannah by way of Massachusetts and the Midwest, with an early career in sound design before joining the family business more than 15 years ago. Since then, he has helped guide Friedman’s through relocations, economic downturns, and a strategic shift that narrowed the company’s focus and strengthened its foundation. Today, the shop operates out of the Eisenhower Square Shopping Center, a stone’s throw from Isle of Hope, serving homeowners, collectors, designers, and commercial clients across the region.

While custom framing remains the cornerstone, Friedman’s work extends far beyond standard mats and mouldings. The team creates shadowboxes for memorabilia, custom mirrors, and sourced art solutions, while also offering delivery, professional installation, frame repair, and art restoration. Every project—whether a single sentimental piece or a large commercial order—is approached with the same care.

What sets Friedman’s apart is trust built over time. Many staff members have been with the company for decades, and the shop operates without sales commissions, keeping the focus on what best serves the artwork and the client. That approach was recently recognized when Friedman’s Framing was named Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year, a reflection of its longevity, service, and community impact.

Deeply rooted in Savannah’s creative culture, Friedman’s supports local galleries, fundraisers, and arts organizations and remains active in the Savannah and Pooler Chambers of Commerce. With its 125th anniversary approaching in 2027, the goal is simple: to remain the first name people think of when it comes to framing work done right.
