Savannah Family Eye Care

Clear Vision, Personal Touch

For Isle of Hope resident Dr. Caroline Freeman, optometry isn’t just about eye exams—it’s about serving families, building relationships, and making quality eye care accessible to everyone. A Texas native, she fell in love with Georgia while attending the University of Georgia, eventually settling in Savannah in 2016 with her husband, John. They now raise their two children, Hattie and Tate, in the community they call home.

Driven by a vision of creating a welcoming, family-focused optometry practice, Dr. Freeman opened Savannah Family Eye Care to provide personalized care for all ages—from infants to grandparents. In addition to comprehensive eye exams, the practice offers a curated selection of high-quality eyewear sourced from other family-owned businesses, ensuring style and function for every budget.

What sets Savannah Family Eye Care apart is its deep-rooted commitment to serving the community. The practice welcomes a diverse range of patients, including children from school vision screenings, veterans referred by the VA, and participants in FDA clinical trials. Beyond that, Dr. Freeman and her team provide care for individuals in need, ensuring that financial barriers don’t stand in the way of clear vision.

One of the most common concerns she encounters is anxiety about eye exams, often due to uncomfortable procedures like dilation or air puff tests. Savannah Family Eye Care alleviates these fears with state-of-the-art technology, offering a seamless, stress-free experience. “Every day, we have patients tell us it was the easiest exam they’ve ever had,” Dr. Freeman says.

At the heart of her practice is a belief in faith, family, and perseverance—values she hopes to pass on to her children. “I want them to know they can pursue their ambitions without fear of failure,” she says. That same philosophy guides her business, ensuring that every patient who walks through the doors is treated with care, compassion, and respect.
