Herb Creek Landscape Supply
Rooted in Service, Growing With Savannah
For Ami Zipperer, gardening is more than a business — it is a lifelong connection to the place she calls home. A Savannah native and 1987 graduate of Calvary Day School, she and her husband, Corbin Zipperer, later attended Georgia Southern University before planting their own roots locally. Together, they raised two sons, Branden, who lives in Savannah, and Charles, who resides in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Ami and Corbin opened Herb Creek Landscape Supply in 2004 in Sandfly, long before the area became the vibrant destination it is today. Their goal was simple: create a welcoming space where neighbors could find quality plants, trusted advice, and a little inspiration. A second location followed in Thunderbolt in 2014.
Herb Creek offers expertise in both indoor plants and outdoor landscape needs, carrying a wide selection of products, including the full Espoma Organic line. Delivery and installation services are available throughout Savannah. The nursery is also known for sourcing rare plants that can be difficult to find elsewhere.
Customer service remains at the heart of the business. During the uncertainty of COVID-19, Herb Creek stayed open, giving residents a place to walk, explore, and reconnect with nature. An online store launched during that season and continues to serve customers today.
In 2024, Herb Creek celebrated 20 years in business and 10 years in Thunderbolt. Looking ahead, Ami is excited to partner with Stroll for a holiday event and revive a cherished Sandfly tradition.
Her advice? “Planting is trial and error. Try something new and enjoy the process. We’re here if you have questions.”
